Coffee Research in Kenya dates back to 1908 when the colonial government appointed the first Coffee Entomologist. Coffee Research Station (CRS) was established in 1944 at Jacaranda Estate near Ruiru and in 1964 the Coffee Research Foundation (CRF) was incorporated as a company limited by guarantee under the Companies Act (CAP486). The Foundation is a State Corporation under the Ministry of Agriculture. It has its headquarters at Coffee Research Station, Ruiru and substations at Koru (Kericho District), Kitale (Tran-Nzoia District), Kisii (Kisii District) and Mariene (Meru Central District). CRF also operates a demonstration plot at Namwela (Bungoma District) and several sites located all over the coffee growing eco-zones. Our Mandate Our Mission |
