• To contribute to the reduction of the cost of coffee production and enhancement of coffee quality
• To develop coffee varieties that are adaptable to local coffee growing conditions and combine high productivity with resistance to both biotic and abiotic stress factors.
• To impart good quality attributes on all Kenyan commercial coffee varieties that not only meet the consumer satisfaction but also fetch premium prices in the world market.
• To avail high quality certified planting materials to the coffee farmers during each planting season
