The main goal of the section is to contribute towards the development of cost effective and environmentally friendly coffee production technologies that enhance yield and quality

RESEARCH OBJECTIVES:
The section research programme involves field and laboratory research activities that covers management of all coffee insect pests with the following objectives:
1) To develop cost effective methods of controlling insect pests through biological and integrated measures.
2) To evaluate chemical insecticides, which are economical and ecologically friendly.
3) To assess the efficacy of new alternatives to Synthetic insecticides such as plant derivatives and biopesticides
4) To study coffee-pest relationships and factors that influence these relationships
