The college has been mandated to conduct professional courses leading to award of certificates and diplomas in Horticulture and Coffee management.
Schedule for the training programmes for the courses/seminars is released in June every year to all the stake holders in Kenya.
Coffee Farm Management:
(Duration 2 week KSH.11,000 - Full board)
The trainees are drawn from new and practicing coffee farm managers in the plantation sector, mall and medium estate and field supervisors from the cooperatives.
The aim of this course to impart the necessary knowledge and practical kills in coffee farming.
Coffee Factory Management:
(Duration 2 weeks: KSH 11,000 -Full board)
We offer training to practicing and new coffee factory managers within the cooperative and the plantation sectors. the main aim here is to impart the latest technical knowledge and skills in coffee processing for increased efficiency in production and processing of high quality coffee.
Coffee Nursery Management:
(Duration 1week KSH 5400- Full board)
Trainees are drawn from registered coffee nurseries for a new and practicing manager wishing to improve and update their nursery management capabilities particularly the cutting, grafting and top working. The trainees acquire knowledge and practical skills necessary for production of healthy coffee seedling's.
Coffee Pest Management:
(Duration week KSH 5400 -Full board)
The course is designed to meet the needs of new and practicing field staff involved in coffee pest management. Emphasis is on the integrated pest management and safe use of pesticides for economic gains, food safety and for a safe clean environment. It is essential course for people involved in handling agricultural pesticides as well as for chemical stockists.
Coffee Extension Officers:
(Duration:1week KSH 7,800- Full board)
Target group is mainly people involved in coffee extension. it aims at up-dating professional skills of new and practicing coffee extension staff who form the main research -extension- farmer linkage in coffee production and processing. They are trained on new challenges in coffee production, processing and marketing
Co-operative Education and Publicity Officers (CEPOs):
Duration: 1 week KSH 7,800- Full board:
The course is designed to equip cooperatives trainees with knowledge and skills in coffee husbandry and processing. The training exposes participants to challenges and opportunity facing the coffee industry. It is an important course for trainers in the coffee cooperative movement.
Stakeholders Seminars:
(Duration: 3 days KSH 5,000- Full board)
The seminars are organized for estates growers management committee in coffee cooperatives, coffee dealers and policy makers. The seminars aim at familiarizing the stakeholders on current and emerging issues in the coffee industry.
Coffee Quality Seminars:
(Duration 1 week KSH 10,200 -Full board)
The course aims in addressing issues that affects coffee quality. participants who are drawn from coffee dealers , millers, staff from public coffee institutions, farmers, cooperative management staff and coffee agents will be introduced to coffee cupping techniques, quality assessment and focus on coffee sale to specialty markets.
Society Management Course:
(Duration 1 week, KSH 7,800- full board.)
This is a seminar designed to familiarize the society management committee with coffee husbandry practices, processing and marketing. It aims t providing the managers with information in the coffee industry that can enhance their understanding to effective society management and marketing.
